Cereus Media Engine

Brand media, made with care and published on your terms.

Cereus Media Engine (CME) helps brands create, organize, and automate short-form video content — with a human approval step before anything reaches your audience.

Status: CME is in private development and is not yet open for public sign-up.

One place for your brand's media

CME brings the work of making short-form brand video into a single, reviewable workflow — from your brand and products, to finished video, to your channel.

Create

From product to video

Start from your brand and product details. CME helps produce scripts, narration, and vertical short-form video, so you begin with a draft instead of a blank page.

Organize

Everything in its place

Keep brand profiles, logos, product catalogs, product images, and generated content together, with a clear review status on every piece.

Automate

Carefully, with limits

Run defined batches of work that you start, with built-in limits and clear status. Fully unattended scheduling is planned and is not available yet.

Connecting YouTube, in plain English

Connecting a YouTube channel is optional. If you do, here is exactly what happens — and what does not.

  1. You choose to connect

In CME, you open a brand's publishing destinations and select Connect YouTube. Nothing is connected automatically.

  2. You sign in with Google

You are sent to Google's own sign-in and consent screen, which lists the permissions CME is requesting. CME never sees your Google password.

  3. CME confirms which channel is connected

CME reads your channel's ID so it knows which channel it is connected to. It does not read your videos, comments, subscribers, or analytics.

  4. You decide what gets uploaded

CME uploads a video only when you ask it to. Uploads are created as private, so you decide in YouTube Studio when — or whether — a video becomes public.

  5. You can disconnect at any time

Disconnecting in CME deletes CME's stored copy of your access and asks Google to revoke it. You can also remove CME's access from your Google Account security settings. Videos already uploaded stay on YouTube until you remove them there.

The permissions CME requests

Google shows these permissions on its consent screen in its own wording.
Permission What CME uses it for What CME does not do with it
youtube.upload Uploading the videos you choose to your connected channel, as private. Edit or delete your existing videos, or upload anything you have not asked it to.
youtube.readonly Reading your channel's ID when you connect, to confirm which channel is connected. Read your videos, playlists, comments, subscribers, or analytics.

Your use of YouTube features through CME is also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. See our Privacy Policy for how CME handles this information.

How we build CME

You approve first

Generated content starts out pending review. Approving content and publishing it are separate, deliberate steps.

Truthful status

CME shows a channel as connected, or a video as uploaded, only when it has confirmed it — never on assumption.

Credentials stay protected

YouTube access is exchanged on CME's servers and stored encrypted. It is never shown in the app or kept in your browser.

Limits by default

Automation runs within explicit bounds, and unattended publishing stays off until it is ready.

From Cereus Enterprises

Cereus Media Engine is built by Cereus Enterprises LLC, an independent company. CME grew out of the tools we use to produce and publish media for our own brands. [REVIEW: confirm this description, or replace it with approved company copy.]
